This night, three years ago, was the last time I was single and the eve of the first time I would become a whole person. I married Travis on October 22nd, in a beautiful ceremony at Auburn United Methodist Church. It was the best day of my life. I think he would say the same.
Now we are on the verge of another miracle, the birth of our son. I can't tell you how much He has blessed us and how thankful we are.Travis, thank you for being the most wonderful husband. More importantly thank you for being my very best friend. I can't wait to see you hold Mason for the first time, kiss him for the first time and just stare in awe of him for the first time. What a life we are creating together.
Travis and I met in 2001. At first we were friends and then we fell in love. Travis is the most wonderful person I have ever known. His character, quiet charm, work ethic and morals are what I admire about him the most. He will be a great dad. He is already a fantastic husband, friend, brother, son, brother-in-law, son-in-law and person. Travis works in construction with his family. Spratlin Construction has been building homes for East Alabama families for years. He works so hard to provide for us. He loves what he does and it shows in the beautiful homes he builds. He takes it personal. It's more than just a job, it's a passion that reflects who he is as a person. I work for WTVM in Columbus. Until recently I was weekend anchor for our FOX and ABC shows. I decided to push away from the anchor desk a few weeks ago. It was time to spend time with my family and friends on the weekends. Plus, with little Mason on the way making time to spend with family is my number one priority now. Not the news. But I still love my job. Working Monday through Friday is amazing. I'm our East Alabama Bureau Chief. I'm back to reporting on my community. It is by far what I love to do the most, professionally speaking. Sometimes I can't believe I get paid to do what I do!
Mason Alan Spratlin
We were so excited to have our 4D ultrasound pictures to share with everyone. The pictures turned out amazing. I think he looks like my side of the family, specifically my dad and brother. Travis disagrees. He thinks Mason looks like him!! Whomever he looks like, the most important thing is, he's healthy! The ultrasound technician said he was growing and developing exactly as he should. What a blessing and relief for us.
Our Other Baby
This is Pebbles, our terrier/something else. We love her so much! She is like a child to us. Pebbles has provided us with unconditional love and hours of entertainment. We are curious to see how she will handle having Mason in the house. She's used to being number #1. It should be interesting to say the least.
Our First Child
This is my Lexi, or should I say our Lexi. She is so very special to us. God truly shined when he created the golden retriever, he especially did well when he created Lexi. Travis got Lexi for me about 7 years ago. I was working all the time, most of my friends had left Auburn after graduation and I was lonely. It was hard to make time to make new friends. Lexi was a dream come true, a blessing. We can't wait to see how she is with little Mason. We have no doubt she will love him as much as she loves us. Lexi is our first child and we know she will be patient and loving (and maybe a little miffed) when Mason comes home with us!
